About Me
Chaundra Ford, MC, Registered Psychologist (AB 6893).
Chaundra holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She provides treatment services for an array of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, among other life challenges. Chaundra utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches in her practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness. Chaundra is certified in both EMDR and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.
Prior to establishing her private practice, Chaundra worked directly with active military members providing both formal diagnostic assessment and therapy services. She continues to work with Veterans to date and feels fortunate to be able to give back to those who have served our country.
Having been born and raised in the Wainwright area, Chaundra feels honored to be able to provide psychological services to her fellow rural Albertans. She brings with her an understanding of the significance that a sense of community plays in our psychological well-being. This engrained sense of community was initially cultivated through her farming background and her appreciation for community support grew further through family.
Chaundra is acutely aware of the unique circumstances surrounding rural living and is proud to play a role in increasing access to specialized psychological services in the area. She is passionate about connecting with rural Albertans who may feel reluctant to seek professional support and providing those individuals with a sense of acceptance and belonging.
“I deeply value the importance of human connection in the healing process, and it is through this connection that we address your concerns in a way best suited to you. I strive to provide a safe, confidential space for individuals to feel heard. It would be a privilege to support you along your journey.”
